MOPS is a group designed especially for Mothers of Preschoolers (moms with children ages birth through kindergarten). This program provides opportunities for moms to strengthen their mothering skills, make lasting friendships and have fun together! Some of the components of a MOPS meeting include:
- Teaching Time---Guest speakers offer information that is relevant to the life of a mother. Topics may include practical instruction on parenting, exploring a mom's emotional needs and celebrating special times of motherhood.
- Discussion group---This small group setting allows moms to share their successes, questions, and concerns as moms. This sharing time allows moms to realize that they are not alone, and provides the opportunity for life-long friendships to develop.
- Creative Activities---moms are given the opportunity to express themselves creatively through crafts projects and life skills presentations.
There are many benefits to becoming a part of a MOPS group. Some of these include:
- A program specifically designed for mothers of preschoolers and their children, led and coordinated by mothers of preschoolers.
- A caring and open atmosphere where the specific needs of moms are met.
- A quality children's program (MOPPETS) so that moms can have opportunities to learn and connect while their children are being cared for.
- The opportunity to start (and finish) a craft to fulfill creative expression and deepen friendships with other moms.
- The opportunities ti interact and encourage each other during discussion group time.
- Practical instruction relating to womanhood, marriage, child-rearing and the home, based on Biblical principles.
